Welcome to Narcotics Anonymous
Unity Day is a fellowship-wide celebration focused on Tradition One:
“Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends on NA unity.”
It’s a day set aside to remind members that NA survives and thrives when addicts come together in unity—across groups, clean time, personalities, and opinions. Unity Day events usually emphasize inclusion, cooperation, service, and gratitude for the fellowship that keeps us clean.
Unity Day is often recognized on April 1, though some Areas or Regions choose a different date that works best for them.
The Unity Day Committee is a service committee formed at the Area or Regional level to plan, organize, and host Unity Day events.
Its purpose is to:
Plan Unity Day activities (meetings, speakers, workshops, dances, meals, etc.)
Encourage participation from all NA groups in the Area or Region
Promote unity, service, and fellowship
Handle logistics like venues, budgets, programming, and flyers
Ensure the event aligns with NA Traditions and Concepts of Service
The committee is usually made up of trusted servants—NA members who volunteer their time—and operates under the guidance of the Area or Regional Service Committee.
Unity Day is the event and spiritual focus
Unity Day Committee is the service body that makes it happen
Both exist to support NA’s primary purpose:
to carry the message to the addict who still suffers—together.
